The moment I met Professor David Lloyd I felt completely comfortable. I arrived concerned about my possible diagnosis but Professor Lloyd made me feel in good hands. It was one of those moments when I thought ‘I know I am going to be very cared for’. My diagnosis was explained very well by him and I decided to go ahead to have keyhole surgery. On the day of my operation, at the Spire Hospital, I was seen by Professor Lloyd who discussed the procedure once more. I went home the following morning and felt back to normal within a few days. 10 days later I’m now back to decorating my new home. I saw Professor Lloyd 2 weeks after my operation and as for my scars, which are hardly visible, are healed. I have now been discharged. Professor Lloyd told me he is there if I need him in the future, although I imagine due to the success of the operation that is unlikely. I cannot recommend him enough. 25 years of worrying and discomfort, I meet Professor Lloyd and my problem is solved within a few weeks. A massive thank you.

A wonderful experience throughout. I met Prof Lloyd for an initial consultation on removal of my gall bladder. He was prompt, polite and explained the procedure and potential impacts very clearly. Operation day went very smoothly with Prof Lloyd visiting my room pre and post operation, at all times attentive to my needs and always polite and professional. My recuperation from the operation has been very quick which I put down to the work of the Professor. I would happily recommend Professors David Lloyd to anyone as an extremely trustworthy and high quality surgeon.

In January 2021, I had open surgery at a local NHS hospital to fix a very painful inguinal hernia I'd had for around 8 months. I followed the recovery regime to the letter and only resumed my normal activities in June. Unfortunately, in August, the hernia returned in exactly the same location and was even more painful than before. I spoke to 3 private surgeons who all said they could not help as the previous surgery had been open rather than laparoscopic and would therefore be very difficult to do and if I wanted the operation via the NHS, I would be looking at between 6 months to a year. Two of the surgeons then recommended contacting Professor Lloyd as he was a hernia specialist and had the necessary experience and expertise to perform this operation. I was able to book a consultation very quickly and Professor Lloyd was extremely helpful and managed to book me in for an operation within a week going out of his way to make sure everything was done. I was able to return home the same day and only needed painkillers for a few days afterwards and with only 3 small incisions rather than the 8 inch scar I still have from the first op. I had a follow up phone call from Prof. Lloyd to check all was well and I am looking forward to returning to my normal activities.
